    td5s bottems

    has enybody herd of the bottem end on a td5 fail?? iv seen a td5 with 370k on the clock and its still going strong

    Nope, everything around it, just not a bottom end, complete failure

    Depends on how you define letting go. If you count spagged bearings then yes I have but it was a symptom not a cause. The oil pressure relief valve spring was soggy and was maintaining just over minimum oil pressure the engine was chipped and the guy driving it wasnt renowned for having a light right boot.

    If you mean "well there I was just happily fanging a long and all of a sudden I saw what looked like a con rod and piston jump out of the bonnet" then no.

    Not very often, usually due to something like that little oil pump bolt coming out....

    I reckon they are a pretty strong jigger actually
