Hey Guys
Wonder if anyone is hearing the same noise as myself. Its an intermittant fault but happens after the vehicle is warm or after lots of clutch use (noticed it first in traffic). When I am frewheeling up to a traffic light or stuck in traffic on the motorway freewheeling towards the car in front I tend to pop it into neutral and coast to a stop, I get a chattering noise under the car, when i push the clutch in to put it into gear the noise goes away, also happens when coasting in 2nd with clutch in.
I assume its the clutch, but that has already been replaced (apparently)
vehicle has done 7000k's gearbox replaced, transfer box and both diffs and clutch replaced.
Does it sound like this?

If so I got the same problem.....
it could poss be the sticking handbrake however I had my hand brake adjusted when it was in service due to it not holding and it was doing it before it went in the handbrake still doesn't hold that well on certain hills but then the oil in the handbrake shoe recall was not carried out on my car when it was in (I have had oil on the handbrake drum shoes before)...although when it came out it was worse, and doing it everyday..
mine also does it in gear with the clutch pressed...then after it has done it the gear changes feel a little sloppy like every time I change there is a loose clunk behind it.
I to think my issue is the clutch
I originally thought it was the gear box as it goes in tune with a vibration at 1750rpm.....(no matter what gear)
but dealer still thinks gear box..will find out soon its going back in mid march.
I too had a changed clutch with the new engine due to the anti rattle springs coming loose....but that was on ly the second revised clutch fitted there is now a third.
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
My sound is a little diferent and its only when slowing down
handbrake is also adjusted so you need to pull it all the way up
its like the propshaft is taveling faster than the gearbox and the driveline slop is chattering
thanks for the replies guys
