    Its the size that counts...

I didn't really appreciate just how big the P38 is until today, hadn't really noticed before I guess. It struck me as I was walking past the garage and noticed the the top of the windscreen on my Fiat doesn't even come up to the bottom of the windows on the P38 !

Anyways, thought I'd share as it made me laugh

Ooh, you cheated. You haven't let the P38 sit down.
What's the Fiat? Can't recognise it. Is it a 2300S?

Yep it was locked on high mode for the photo shoot, it was on standard when I first noticed but thought I'd hollywood it up a bit . Fiat is a 124 Spider, they were hugely popular in the USA and europe in their time but almost non existant in Australia, I did the steering conversion on it.

The funniest thing that I saw with a 124 sport was 25 years ago, my mate just bought one, arrived at my place to show it off. When he pulled up he applied full lock, and the lower left ball joint pulled through. Just went "clunk" on the ground in front of me! A look at his face was enough to set me off.

Went and bought a balljoint, sent him home to contemplate maintenance. I hope your ball joints are deeply loved and regularly pampered.

I just love the note of the twin cam...

    Funny that...

It was only a few hours ago the Mrs was saying to me how small the "pretty pig" (our P38) feels... she had just jumped out of a couple of months in her lifted 100 series and back into "the town car" pretty pig (while her Tojo was in for a service)...

I guess Einstein (is that spelling correct?) must have been right with all that theory on relativity!!!

P.S. My poor mans version of a sports car is an unmodified (but dumped) '96 Magna Altera 3.0lt... not that sexy, but it feels like your steering an F1 Ferrari when getting out of either of our 4WD's!!!

Funny when you look at your cars from different angles, Here is a pic from a while ago with my Rangie on "normal" height next to my wife's Freelander

Strange that my first thought was that her head would be at the same height of my "cubby box"

Dave - nothing wrong with the V6 Altera mate! Years ago, I had a 97-98 model as a company vehicle and maintain that it was one of the quickest and best handling cars I have ever had.

    Cheers, Paul.
