    Tub cleats.

I am short of one cleat (the ones that are spot welded to the side of the tub to receive the canopy cordage) and was wondering if anyone had an old tub lying around that wouldn't really look any the worse for the lack of this one cleat.
The following picture is of the space where the cleat should be.

The Engine is 99% done, the chassis has been tidied up, welded in a couple of places, cleaned and painted, we just picked up a brand new radiator, the headlights and associated radiator support panel have been done, most of the panels have been fiddled with and miraculously received some colour (thank you Harry), modern rivnuts have replaced the old rusted captive nuts that had expired, and apart from the meccano set exercise of putting her back together again with her myriad of revitalised bits and pieces, making a new wiring loom and then doing the brakes, she is almost there. I still have to take some time out to do a couple of days duration road trip to a couple of sources to pick up a set of mudguards and some clearance lights. (For those in the know these clearance light receptacles have been refitted a bit more professionally than before!)
All is looking rosy and apart from the side cleat, the only bit that is proving a bit elusive is a "D" tail light. If I can't find or manufacture one I might just have to condescend to buying from the UK......but that is a last resort!
    Regards

I have one here Glen, for that very thing. When you need it by? I am out tomorrow, but feel free to come and get it tonight or Sunday after breakfast, or I can bring it next time I see you.

I am guessing you need it ASAP so you can paint.

Plenty of those around, drill the spot weld out from the inside of the donor tub, but stop and break the last of the spot weld before you drill completely through.

If you can't find someone with one, make yourself a spot welder, tips from a birko soldering iron are good, then about 1 volt x 200amp power supply .

A chap has told me that light is still available as a new part for the FJ, FX Holden utes, as they have the same 'D' light, although he did say that they may need painting as the new lights have been chromed.

Arthur, I have checked with a local "Rare Spares" mob up here that specialise in old Holdens and Falcons with a smattering of Wog boxes thrown in, and although they are well aware of the particular light and even admit to knowing that their beloved Holdens did indeed share some (shock horror) British parts, they inform me that they are having a heck of a job sourcing them and put them into the same class as both hen's teeth and kangaroo tail feathers.
(Hen's teeth are pretty rare but I do recall selling an odd roo tail-feather or two to a couple of Yank servicemen once. Good price too I might add!)
