Dave and Narelle in Madge the series 2 swb
Steve and Helen and Doug in a D1
Alan and Lyn in a Nissan Pathfinder
Jerry in his marvelous series 3 lwb camper

As arranged everyone arrived at BP South caboolture at the arranged time except for Jerry and his series 3 which we met at Woodford.

We headed off to woodford via the old highway to beerburrum were we turned left and headed out to woodford to meet Jerry at the bakery

after the appropriate waiting period we headed off to bellthorpe via the kilcoy - beerwah road and then mears lane and the road up the side of the mountain was closed to all but local traffic.

always a lovely spot, we stopped at bellthorpe to absob some of the stunning views and cool breeze while Alan checked out under his pathfinder.

I noted many of the deer farms are now carrying cattle.. anyone know if this is a seasonal thing or if the deer industry is having problems?

once again we headed off on the trek to jimna via the bellthorpe - jimna road.

picturesque still and not as dry as we expected, we made out way thru the forest with the occasional stop to admire the scenery.

we were very surprised to see some large puddles in places and i couldnt get over how little traffic seems to be using these roads. the road was down to almost driveway status in places, with grass and regrowth closing right in.

it was a little rough in places and a couple of very rutted shook the vehicles around.

i was most pleasantly surprised at the amount wheel travel on the pathfinder and was impressed with the way it made it over a fallen tree that decided to add a little adventure to our afternoon.

we made excellent time and rolled into the jimna township to take advantage of the facilities available before heading off to peachtrees for our picnic lunch.

peachtrees is still a lovely spot, nearly always at least 5 or 6 degrees cooler than the surrounding area in summer.

after the luncheon adjournment we headed back to our respective abodes via the kilcoy jimna road thru yednia kilcoy and woodford etc etc.

You really notice the surrounding environment when travelling in a series!

the heat between yednia and kilcoy was truely stifling in places and was like driving through an oven.

Thank you all for making the day as good as it was. was a very pleasant way to spend a sunday and i look forward to doing something similar again soon!

not many pics, i was enjoying the driving to much to be playing photobug..
