Austin Healey Car Club Day out

Folks - y'all missed a cracker. The blokes in the AHCC are champions - they were even prepared to have a good yak with a bunch of Harley louts. What can I say, other than, Hellooooo Austin......

    [ame="http://youtu.be/R1w85qMqIjs"]http://youtu.be/R1w85qMqIjs[/ame]

Right - I did get the camera out this time though.....

The big J beside George's pride and joy....

    Worthy of James Bond.....

The poms finally get it right - a 3 litre beast with triple Webers.....

Check out the American muscle in the background!

    Total chick magnets....

And these guys get a great turn out.....this isn't even half of 'em....

Don't think poor ol' Jerry will ever be the same after driving this beastie today....

    Such beautiful cars those.
I was talking with a chap at Sandown Historic meet that had just finished repainting his for the event, only to bottom out the back end on a speed hump on arrival.
His was like the two tone blue one you've pictured here, it had the fold down screen. Absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks for supporting the event and the pics Dan It was certainly a good turnout

Not sure how I can describe driving the big healey I'm lost for words, a bit like a supercharged tractor with series land rover steering
To be honest it was amazing, the quality of this car is unbelievable. It drives so tight you'd think it had just come off the production line, it's certainly a credit to it's owner and I can't wait to take out the "works replica" which has been eleven years in the making.

George's love of these cars started some 60 years ago when his father presented him with an Austin J40 pedal car which he brought back from the uk on the ship. George still has this pedal car sitting in his garage

All I can say is,,, "You lucky lucky bastard". Damn, I reckon I'd just about give my left one for a drive of, well, any one of those cars. Awesome.
That pedal car is in excellent nick too, and looking mighty fine.

    Thanks for the pics Dan.

They are my all time favourite Pommy sports car bar none.

American muscle? I thought the P Rado was Japanese

No worries Perry. They are sweet cars. Hope things are well with you.

There does seem to be some real confusion on these pages regarding other vehicles but! Personally, I wouldn't call a Japanese plastic anything "muscle"...
