Have a look for a suitable donor, which is one with free wheeling hubs and ask to have that diff centre out of the front.

You will find that having the free wheeling hubs disengaged most of it's life, the front diff will be hardly worn when compared with the rear diff centre. ...
But it may also have buggered bearings, plus a rusty top 1/2 of the crownwheel and hemisphere where it was sitting out of the oil.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

And it may have also been used to pull something big in reverse, best that those checks that I suggested, be done after the centre is out of the banjo, all those things you have pointed out would then be found easily after the diff centre has been removed out of the banjo.
