    Crown Rego Plate

    Hi Keith,

A mate of mine, Bobslandies mentioned to me quite a while ago that you were after a set of the plates that were used on the old Royal Visit vehicles. I know that you had some repros produced for your Land Rover, but I just tracked down a collector in WA who has a set in his collection. He said he was more than happy to send through some hi-res photos of the plates if you wanted to look at them. I've attached some low-res images. Not willing to trade or sell them unfortunately but for your info.

    Cheers,

    Sean

    Thanks Sean, nice photos.
Arthur Goddard has an original that 1950landy photographed for me. We based the repro on that and I think it came out OK, so that will do for now. Thank your mate, the collector, for the offer. Nice collection.
I would like to make up a Uniform one day like the driver in that pic of yours. I have made up one of the "Dress Blues" like the Tassie Drivers wore.

and now its a source that you can use to measure pennants, pennant posts etc with to see correct sizes.

Its amazing whats out there, someone has collected all these emblems etc and yet the car itself was out rabbitting!!

I appear not to have updated this for a while.
It was not getting any use while I was caring for my late wife so I decided to sell it.
While it was advertised , I had no serious offers. Admittedly it was during Covid so a bad time to sell.
I put it on the UK Land Rover Register and sold it the next day. I would rather it stayed in OZ but thats the way it goes. The buyer organised all the shipping etc , all I had to do was get it to Brisbane Wharf.
Now its for sale again in the UK.
I was sent a link to this .

Well Patrick knows what they are worth now I could not get $30000 here in Oz and I was not going to give it away. The Poms appreciate that sort of thing.
Just used the money from it to buy a new John Deere 5050 Tractor. Coming tomorrow. I cant use the money where I am going so may as well buy something useful. The Stepson who gets the place when I kark it does not like my A414 or my Ford 3000 so might as well sell them. The JD should keep him happy.
