Good afternoon, I need to reassemble the linkage of my 2 litre diesel and i need some help: the parts catalogue indicates 2 springs (item nr. 37, part nr. 277502) and 1 "anchor" ( item nr. 38, part nr. 277565) both on page 155 of the Series 1 parts catalogue ( it the same setup for the Series 2 , 2 litre diesel).
Can anybody post a picture of an engine where i can see how both springs and anchor need to be fixed, please ?
Thanks a lot
The location of the springs is shown on page 5-A2 in the Series 2a manual. The throttle return spring is between the lever on the side of the pump and the shaft of the bell crank that is on a bracket bolted to the top of the pump. The return spring for the stop lever goes to a teardrop shaped bracket held by the upper bolt holding the oil filter adapter, directly below the lever. Looking at a couple of different manual pictures, it seems likely that the setup may have varied somewhat during 2 litre production! (or some of the pictures are from prototypes!)
