    Tie rod fasteners

    Hello from Brisbane.

A quick question on securing tie rod ends on a Series.

The old ones that were on my truck had a castellated nut and split pin to secure them to the pitman arms, steering arms etc. Must note that the PO was fairly economical with the split pins - most were missing....

The new ones that I bought some time ago from a now defunct outlet here in Brisbane just have a washer and nyloc nut with no hole through the threaded end were one to seek to use a castellated nut. I only found this out today when I went to fit them.

My question - is this the way they come these days? Just nyloc nuts?

    Cheers,

    Neil

    yep.

easy enough to drill out if you want to use the castle nut.

I fit them with the flat washer and a locking washer.
