Exclamation Stolen superbike, Urgent please help

    Hi All,
    No Cookies | Herald Sun
I’d just like to post this up here as I know there are a lot of honest and honorable landrover owners in Victoria.
A friend of mine who was recently competing at the world super bike championships at Phillip Island had his trailer and entire racing set up stolen by some, lower than low, Scumbag. The bikes owner is gutted as he’d not had the bike very long and had put everything into it over the last few months just to ride at the superbike championship. Every dollar spent on the bike was his own, no sponsorship, just a hard working aussie investing everything in something he’s truly passionate about.
He’s been hard at work over the past few days tracking down video footage from various cameras in the area and so far he has footage of the thieves’ vehicle towing the trailer. The footage is only enough to tell that the vehicle was a white dual cab ute with a snorkel on the passenger side. With a little help from a computer geek friend, we’re hoping to get a better picture and a license plate number.
There is a $2000, and a few cartoons of beer, reward for the return of the trailer and all the gear, even if it is from the people who stole it. No questions asked he just wants to race again…..
Things to look out for would be the trailer, it’s pretty unique as he made it himself and he’s a much better bike rider than he is trailer builder . The white rims for the ZX10, they are very rare and they weren’t on the bike when it was stolen, so someone will probably try to move them quickly. The aluminum sub frame was also rare as it was imported from the US.
The link is to the story from the herald sun. It has photos of the bike and the trailer. There is also a facebook page he could be contacted on. Currently he is on his way back to Perth as he has to go to work, however, as he has a lot of family and friends in Victoria they are continuing to look into as many avenues as possible.
We are truly hoping that social media can be a weapon against these sort of people and activities that are such a blight on society.
Any help would be greatly appreciated…….. Oh and well rewarded.....
    Regards

And it was not insured. Are you suggesting it was a Land Rover towing the trailer? Your only hope is to find the number plate on the CCTV, but even that could be suss, if they have replaced the original plates with stolen ones. I feel sorry for your mate, he must be gutted. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

ahh that is horrible! The poor bloke. Insured or not, that is heart wrenching, it is his livelihood that has been taken!

I hope they find the scumbags!

The lot will probably be stripped by now, and parts from the Patrol will be all over gumtree and ebay already. The bike stuff will probably end up on formula-extreme at some stage

The Patrol wasn't stolen. The thieves hooked up the trailer to their white dual cab ute.

HI All, Just a quick update. Our little geek mate has cleared up the picture enough to be reasonably confident that the thieves vehicle was either a mazda BT or the ford equivalent but definitely white dual cab.

Bob; no mate was never suggesting a landrover owner would be so low brow LOL, but there is lot of land rover owners on this forum, it's just about getting the info out to as many Vic locals as possible and hoping something sticks.
Dullbird; Thanks, I didn't even know that AULRO had a face book page LOL. I'm not a regular user of the forum these days and I'm not a fan of social media generally, so much so that I don't even have a face book page myself LOL. I'll talk to my mate when he gets home in a few days and see what he wants to do.

What may be really useful is any information about people who deal with stolen goods. Surely there must be at least one Police officer or a reformed criminal on the forum .... An inside line on where to look..

rb30gtr- What's the formula extreme that you refer too? Ebay for race equipment??

Yeah Forumla Extreme is like en ebay purely for track bikes gear and related stuff.

If the bike gets stripped the parts will surely end up here, I've had a bit of a look and can't see anything. Couple of enclosed trailers for sale, and a ton of ZX's
