    Talking sediment trap placement

I have been servicing the 300 tdi today and crawled under to drain the sediment trap. Now i am the owner of a brand new posi flow fuel pump in the shed. Any thoughts on replacing sediment trap with electric pump connected to ignition and placing trap under the bonnet for easy acess. on the inlet side of filter. Thoughts ??????

    that'll work but.

Id be inclined to put the sperator before the pump as it gives you a very rudimentary form of filtration and keeps the water from getting to the pump in the first place.

I thought of that but was not sure it would draw through. Whats your recomendation would you place the pump on the chasis and leave sedimenter in place or move both up the front ?

Not being familiar with the exact pump you have if its one of the Rattler/facet type pumps you can move both up to the engine bay without too much hassle.

Id be inclind to leave the fuel water seperatorwhere it is (unless you have to move it for reasons of other than "I cant be bothered getting down there to service it) plumb the electrical pump after the fuel water seperator and mount the pump up on the chassis rail somewhere safe.
