Ya mate 60 series cruiser with rover donk in the back theres proberly a law against that a, 3 other series rovers out the back so i am still on the good side.
That is an early one I think... May even be a series 2 (2L diesel), instead of the 2.25... I believe most/all 2A engines start with 2xx and series 3 with 3xx or 9xx. Someone else should be able to give you more info on that though.Quote:

You have a series II engine (1958/9-1961). Which would make it a 2L (series II became IIA when they changed from 2L to 2.25L).
They are not a very common engine in Australia AFAIK. There may be someone doing a resto who would be happy to swap for a 2.25D.
Probably best to post in the Series II/A section for more info. I have never worked on a 2L. I believe they run wet liners, which may be hard to find if you have to replace them.

I believe the bore, but don't quote me. The 2L has wet liners and the 2.25 is a dry engine, so I am sure you can't bore a 2L to become a 2.25 if that is what you are thinking...Quote:

I agree that it is most likely a series 2 2 litre diesel. Taylor indicates the following numbers for series 1 dieselsQuote:

So your engine number of 156800766 is not in this series of numbers so logically is a later engine. Is it in fact a 2 litre and not a 2.25?
