Thread: Extractors to fit a Stage 1 v8??

This town has only has one exhust shop. A funny thing happened when I was making some enquires there a little while back. When I asked about extractors to fit a "Land Rover series 3 stage one V8", The young bloke behined the counter kept asking "yer, but who makes it?", "Land Rover" I repiled, to at this point he was getting a little stressed and said "Look I need to know who makes it, is it a Toyota, a Nissan, or what??". After a little explainning I was able to get him to belive there are other 4wd manufactures than just Toyota. I also found his depth of knowlage on the subject was just a photo-copy of a shallow pond.

I found pace maker make a set for the County 110 (PH7600). I haven't had a good look at a County 110 yet, is the engine as close to the left side chassie rail as a stage one?(left hand side from the drivers seat).

I have a pair of brand new Pacemaker PH 7600 for my 3.9L Range Rover sitting in my garage that I brought cheap, has anyone had any experience with these, any noticable advantages?

Personally I like a 2.5" single dump pipe on that size of engine.

I'd go from the headers with as equal as you can make them 2" tertiaries into a two in, 2.5" single out Lukey muffler (if they still make them) plus a 2.5" resonator.

Great power and torque and excellent note.

Did anyone confirm if the Pacemaker PH7600 Headers will fit a Stage 1?

I fitted a pair of sonic(i think) extractors about 10 years ago to a stage one. From memory they went on ok BUT left hand turns were restricted by about 65% by the rear pipe hitting steering some where.A real eyeopener on the test run My mate cut and reshaped pipe and all was well.(a real pia.)

Series III Stage 1 with a bit of a difference

This is what I'll be doing eventually, simply because mucking about with exhaust pipe is one of the worst jobs on a car if you don't have the right gear for it.

Great story about the exhaust shop, too! How did you not roll around on the floor laughing helplessly until they kicked you out?
