It took a little leap of faith and a little help from Chad, but for $605 I’m happy with the design, fit and quality of the Pace Maker PH7600 extractors to my 109 V8 stage 1. Some very minor “tweaks” were required. Here’s what I had to do to make them fit nicely.
*The driver’s side hit the leaf spring shackle bolt, not by much, but there’s no letting it go. To solve this problem I simply bolted the new extractor up completely and tight. Started it up and let it run till the header was nice and hot, then worked the collector gently with a large flat ended crow bar and a piece of wood till I had about 25mm clearance.
* I found the passenger side only needed the centre support brace cut out to allow for the dip stick. This is fortunate that it fits so easy because I found getting all the bolts in and tight on this side very frustrating, due to the design of car more than the headers.
* My headers seemed to kick up on the outlets; I finished that off by getting some of that stainless, flexible exhaust tube. Works a treat and gives it the flex you need to stop your exhaust shaking to pieces. I saved heaps of hassles by ending my exhaust just in front of the passenger side rear wheel; I know this might not be legal in some situations, after all mine is a ute, and I pretty much live in the middle of nowhere.
As for power increase, well it did seem to pull a little better down low, but nothing scientific.
Hope this helps
How funny is that,I just answered my own thread!
