    Cooling system ejector pump

I need to replace the expansion tank and cap, I'm thinking of doing the ejector pump at the same time.

Someone mentioned that they were quite cheap, but the cheapest I can find is Land Rover parts - HOSE & EJECTOR PUMP - COOLING SYS BLEED - L/ROVER DEF+DISC

    Is this about right?

I changed mine a while ago. Can't remember what I paid but I got it from here.
Land Rover 101 - British 4wd's Contact details!

I get most stuff here and generally they are good on price.

What the hell is an ejector pump, from that diagram it just looks like a kind of 1 way valve ?

From this thread: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...-assembly.html , the "ejector pump" appears to be nothing more than a 3-way Y piece of plastic that doesn't even have a one way valve or anything inside.

I believe it acts simply as a 3-way hose joiner, through which air is bleed from the cooling system upon startup.

It has been known to leak slowly or even split, but it appears to be a rare problem.

Others have replaced it with a plain t-piece.

I carry a t-piece in my spares just in case it goes one day.

It appears there has been a spate of leaking ejector pumps lately. I just bought one too which comes with the three hoses attached. Its a good idea especially if your hoses are getting a little perished to buy the kit.

I have a mate who cooked his engine when it cracked. Buy a t piece or go to a hose place and by a brass 3 way block and connections to match the pipe sizes .
