Which clutch kit do I buy?

I noticed there are differences in clutch kits being sold for the 3.9 Disco 1 and the 3.5 County. Im transplanting my 3.9 from the Disco to the county with its LT85. So do I buy a 3.5 county clutch kit or a 3.9 Disco clutch kit, and do they come with a clutch aligning tool if one is needed. Assistance appreciated as usual.

No Aligning tool comes with a clutch. One can be fabricated from a piece of timber dowell. You can buy them from Auto access store, or if you are lucky to have a mate with a metal lathe ( like Me) he could turn you up one.

FWIW, I've never used a clutch alignment tool. Simply put your fingers around the clutch cover where the openings are and you can feel the edge of the friction plate. Before you bolt the clutch cover down tight, you can centre the friction plate with your fingers. Works every time!

Thanks for that. Would you be able to answer the other part of my question regarding which kit to use? Im guessing I need to use a kit to match the county gearbox?

Just re-reading your post. You would need the 3.9 kit with the county spline on the friction plate.
