    Possible Fuel pump replacement ?

Ok so my fuel pump has been screaming it's head off since I bought the Defender almost 12 months ago.

Last week I noticed that there was diesel leaking from the top of the long range tank.

Now without dropping the tank for a closer look, would it most likely be the pump or seal ?

Can the pump be refurbished ?
Does anyone have any knowledge of the after market pumps you can get on Fleabay ?

Was looking at one from the UK for $270 shipped

And lastly, is it an easy job to replace the pump/seal ?

Chances are it'll be the seal so now's a good time to do the pump as well.

Try & stick with a genuine pump if you can. I've heard a few horror stories about cheaper pumps.

Saying that though, I've heard some stuff about genuines too .

Had another look on eBay and there a shop in the UK selling "Genuine" Defender TD5 Fuel Pumps.

LAND ROVER DEFENDER TD5 FUEL PUMP - WFX000260 - eBay, Land Rover, Car Parts, Vehicle Parts Accessories. (end time 10-Jul-10 01:13:10 AEST)

It's $310 all up (just ordered one)

Where can I get the seal from locally ?

Yes but when you read the add it reads "suitable" for TD5.... Genuine ?

When you get it let us all know what you think of it. (Quality is it orighinal)

    WGQ500020 - about $40 from a dealer.
The aftermarket specialists around the traps might have it cheaper.

WFX000260 is a genuine part number for the fuel pump so you should be OK.
