    Hi Andrew

This is down to an airflow issue, now that can be for many reasons. I can only suggest a few things from recent experience.

I had the same problem, I initially changed the Mass Air Flow Sensor, this didn't work for me but worth a check, I also checked for de-laminmating of the turbo inter-cooling hose, which can be a cause.

Now depending on your year of Td5, you may have an exhaust with more than one muffler. If you have a cat converter, you will have a front muffler on your exhaust just at the base of your down pipe, this can get blocked, this can cause a loss of power. I don't know how to rectify an issue with this problem other than either cut the muffler out and weld a pipe in its place or replace the exhaust for new, the choice is yours.

Hope this helps and I'm sure there will be more advice and different reasons why.

    Good Luck

    Rom

Most likely either the aforementioned modulator valve, or one of the hoses going to / from it.

It is located on the side of the A/C compressor, 1 hoe comes from the air intake post airbox, another goes to the wastegate, and the other at the bottom of the vave goes to the I/C pressure pipe, from the turbo outlet to the intercooler.

This valve isn't present on a Td5 Defender, the Disco Td5 only and can be quite a common cause of low power output.
