It is my understanding, MR don't just swap out the harnesses, the new ones are modified by the wires being resin filled into a plug to stop the progression of oil along the harness, and a perm fix.

Looks like I will still have to keep an eye on it:(

the solution on the MR harness is having the head of the injector plug removed, filled with a sealastic and the having the cap put back on forcing the sealastic to extrude along the wires sealing the plug.

so far I havent had first hand experience of one of these harnesses not doing its thing.

Yes MR fill the plug with a silicone substance of some sort so the oil doesn't make its way down the wires. They certainly seem to think it is a permanent fix, I have not heard of anybody who has evidence that it is not. Mine was not replaced by them, but was filled with silicone when it was still very new by MR, the harness that is, not the Defender.

He's been doing it for a while with no "come backs" so time will tell.

Have to agree with Pete here, mine still runs like crap (when it runs :mad:) coz there is so much oil in the main loom. I have to give it a clean every week, with some contact cleaner.

MR looked at it a year ago when I first had the problem, they couldn't track it down at the time (it didn't play up for them), I am not sure if they checked out the injector seals or not, I will look into it.
