I was thinking of fitting a small drink bottle to the drain of mine. But after a week of driving to work and no sign of any oil yet, I might just put a longer drian hose and loop it. Or just fit a small pill bottle to the end.
I have mine with a piece of 13mm poly plugged until i can get another turbo oil drain line. Rather than butcher the existing and make a mistake, i'm going to get a new one and play with it a bit. I think its going to take time to really start collecting anything.
I'm still in two minds as to whether to just drill ot straight into the sump on its own line when i do the next oil change. Need to check the oil pump bolt anyway so kill 2 birds so to speak.
Cheers
Andrew
OK, a few details on fittings used. I was lucky enough to have a couple of lengths of 3/4 and 1" ID Purosil hose lying around at work
The only other addition was a 19mm retic poly connector. This is used for sticking inside the 19mm hose to provide a clamping point when fitting the 25mm hose over it.
For the mount, i started with a length of 20x5mm reinforced steel bar, however with a lack of appropriate gastorch and bending gear, i gave up and used a piece of scrap ally checkerplate from the trailer build.
This bent up pretty easy with nothing more than a hammer and rubber mallet. A few quick bends roughly in the right areas and being ally, was easy to get into the right shape.
The bracket mounts using the alarm horn and rollover switch screw points and needed no new hardware for it, however be carefull with the rollover switch as i did crack one of the screw mounts
Position the Provent onto the bracket, mark holes, drill, position vent spigots and bolt into position.
With the hose, cut each one to about half the length of each run. With the poly connector, cut the barb off each end, push into the 19mm hose where the 25mm will join it, then stick a hose clamp over it and lightly tighten.
Connect to the rocker cover and the PCV regulator on the turbo intake and its done!
Get the engine to normal run temp, take the cover off the Provent and see just how much mist actually comes thru.
Cheers

Anything surface mail that hits Darwin after midday Thursday waits another week to be put on the barge. Then it arrives here usually Mon/Tues and then in our mail boxes on the Wed arvo.

Thanks again for all your efforts. Now I have to make the effort to fit it.
