    Which master cylinder / booster

    Hi all,

I am fitting disk brakes using discovery 1 parts to my Series 2a. I am wondering if the calipers on the defenders are much different to the discoveries. Reason I ask is I am intending to use a brake master cylinder and booster from a 1994 onwards defender, but I have discovery axles and calipers.

Assuming the discovery is 94ish the axles will have single front brake lines to calipers with solid rotors all round 4 pot fronts 2 pot rears.

A 94ish defender uses similar 4s and 2s but slightly larger calipers and with ventilated front rotors.

Not that I have done the conversion but I cannot imagine that it wont stop the vehicle!!!! Obviously in a series it will be well easier to user fender master and booster, which technically drive bigger caliper pots and as such should have reserve capacity to drive the discovery calipers you have...

Sclarke used a Discovery booster for his County brake conversion. http://www.aulro.com/afvb/projects-t...r-upgrade.html
