You tell us if its worth fitting or not!
Do you think you be holding onto the truck for any length of time, will it be used in off-road conditions and does it warrant it.
If the answer is Yes to all the above, than your answer to your question given you have the funds is Yes.
Should you do it and have it done, the car will not be worth X plus what you spend but X plus maybe 10-20% of what you spend.
Is the 82 a 2 door or the very 1st 4 door model.
The 2 doors are getting very rare indeed and almost cult status for a good one. Cheers

Well you won't NEED lockers (especially 2 of them) for touring in a Rangie. That doesn't mean they're not nice to have though. Making the most of a twin locked Rangie regularly ends in panel/bumper bar damage and axle breakege in my experience though. My 130 is a touring rig and I do find myself using the rear Maxidrive valve at times, though I think I just like the soft "sssh" sound it makes.

If you want to get further off-road i would say yes for sure, they will make a huge improvment, but as has been said it all depends on what sort of driving you will be doing, for touring i'd just fit a rear one just incase you get into strife way out the middle of no where
CHEERS TIM.

It's always puzzled me how Rover could have thought it's ok to have designed a vehicle with with such a ground breaking and revolutionary chassis and comfort levels, great torque and gearing, even cruising speed, then use the same axle sections and diff centres which were already famously inadequate in a 4 cylinder series 2a ! That's why maxidrive were the only option for lockers for so long. If you fit even a rear locker you'd best consider at least 24 spline Disco axles.
