hi guys got a 94 disco and was wondering if you could confirm my thoughts. Upon takeoff my drivetrain shudders real nasty like and even squeeks sometimes when I take off fast. It's not getting any worse but is a pain in the ass. Im guessing new worn clutch, clutch plate etc etc, so im thinking new clutch kit?? what do ya reckon? cheers

Most serious issues with these clutches are displayed by one of two things..
1. A clutch that wont disengage fully....results in very hard to select gears and cant select a gear whilst stationary, have to hold on brakes and clutch etc.....one of ours had a broken clutch fork arm (squeaks from bellhousing when moving clutch pedal)
the other a disintegrated clutch lining, springs fell out of plate and caused binding issues Squeaks all the time the pedal is depressed as the clutch bits a pieces drag between flywheel and pressure plate
 nasty stuff.
2. Clutch that wont engage fully....ie slipping due to either collapsed pressure plate often due to excessive heat from clutch abuse, or clutch wear, from high kms or hard use....
Clutch shudder is usually a much more minor issue of contaminants on pressure plate, in a LR instance almost always oil from rear main.....
What im getting at here is in order to fix any of these problems you have to have it all apart. Ie split bellhousing to motor and remove all clutch components to inspect. Also have to pull all this apart to fix oil leaks at rear main.
As parts needed are unknown until you do this, unless u have an unlimited budget or cant afford an imobilized vehicle.....pull apart then order parts. I did one last weekend took 2hrs to pull apart. Bit more to clean and put back together. Good luck....
Fork is $50
Throw out bearing $20
Clutch kit $350 -500 some are ripping u off some are heavier clutches....
Rear main ??? $$$ wouldnt be too exy

I had similar, it did however have a new clutch kit in it already but in their wisdom did not get the fly-wheel machined.
I would say new clutch(assembly) and get flywheel machined is a must.
Solved my problem, cost me $1100 though
