    Fuel Pump Replacement

Was just told fuel pump needs replacing in my 98 Disco V8 and was wondering if anybody knew roughly how much to replace. Will contact a few places tomorrow but am after a bit of a heads up prior to know what I am up for.

    Thanks,

    Dave

Purchase a VN Commodore in-tank pump kit from Bosch, it contains enough bits to fit the pump into your D1. You should be able to get one for under $100 if you shop around. I think you might need a small piece of EFI fuel hose too. I have done a few of these, have another one to do on Monday, can't remember the part number offhand.

There is a fairly long thread on this on here somewhere from when myself and some others were doing this to our Discos. It has the part number in it for the VN pump.

As BeaUtey said the VN pump is a good fit. I paid about $105 from REPCO and as you'd expect it is an off the shelf part.

I didn't need any extra bits as I managed to not butcher the internal return hose when taking it off the old pump. Not always possible though I wouldn't think.

3rd'ed (or whatever its at now)

the VN pump is pretty much a drop in replacement with the exception of the hose connection (it varys slightly but not enough to cause problems) and the electrical connection (which is slightly different but simple to adapt with either a soldering iron or a couple of crimp connectors)

last one I costed came in at %85 from repco but that was my trade price so having a stab perhaps $120 tops will get you out of trouble.
