no worries, I wish i had known about it, would have saved me $2500.
A reco'd one was $1200 exchange, but of course mine couldnt be reco'd could it.
Let us know how you go with the pin. Cant see it being anything else you didnt change anything else.

The gunk could be some of the assembly grease on the inverted cone shaft set hard etc, OR sometimes some diesel etc will leak in the the well, and then bacteria etc will grow over time. Also, due to oil mist through the intake system and intercooler etc, some will get blown through the pressure line into the pump top chamber whee the diaphragm is.

Well problem fixed today. I was having power/boost problems which ended up being the govonor pin sticking in the top housing of the injector pump (thank you justinc). Took off the accelerator plate, undone the torx bold to get access to the pin and used some wd40 and manualy push the pin in and out until nice and smooth. Placed the plate back (which was bloody fun lol) and all is well. Thanks to everyone for your help. God I love a challenge ;)
