    CAT coolant

Pretty sure I have read on here CAT ELC coolant is the same OAT spec as used in the TD5.
We had to get some in at work during the week, around $70 for 20lt.
It is indeed RED not green or YELLOW in the case of my Volvo grader or Blue if its the Volvo Excavator.
Did a bit of a Google.

Can anybody confirm if this is GOOD in a TD5???

Not exactly the same but similar (and better)

I was told by a CAT lab tech from the states a few years back that it was indeed Texaco ELC with some SCA's (supplemntary coolant additives), nitrite and molybdate for better cavitation errosion protection of steel and iron.

Yes it is. I was the one who posted the original thread about it. I know it was moved some time back into one super thread on coolant, so it is probably in the Good Oils section I'm thinking.

Number must have changed as I just waged war on the cane toads and went to the shed to find the drum I inherited from Derek and it is 129-2151.

Andy, check what filters etc your CAT agent can get in. You may well find they can get ones to fit the Td5 and will be good quality and cheaper than Auto places.
