There are other ways to clear the lamp, but what was wrong with the brakes in the first place?

Hey everyone a mate of mine has a 96 discovery se v8 and the anti lock light is on. the brakes have been fixed but how do we clear the light. Will we have to have a mechanic do it or is there another way?

the pedal would push to the floor with no pressure. New brake fluid and a bleed of the system and it all seems to be working as per usual.
OK, I would say the brake lamp switch MAY be faulty, even though the lamps are working, it is a 2 stage switch and also signals the ABS.
There is some info here on Disco1 ABS diagnostics if you search. The control relay needs to be unplugged etc to self diagnose, and you read the relavent code via a 'blink' test, which is where the dash Anti lock lamp blinks in a sequence to provide a code number. By unplugging the bridging wire it clears that relavent code..The code list and instructions are in the thread.
Can't remember the details, I use a plug in diagnostic computer for this at work.
