Not sure what you mean exactly - can you post a phot with arrows / explanation of the relevant places so we ca see what you mean ?
Hi I have recently bought a 97 defender 130 and am fixing all the little things you would expect on a 13 year old car . It looks like the bonnet safety catch is hitting the airconditioning coil infront of the radiator. while there is a metal plate on top of the coil its been pushed down . Is this what should happen ? I cant see a way to move the catch foward to get it to clear the coil . Does any one else have this problem or can sugest a fix . I have tried bending the catch but it then fowls on the radiator suport pannel . Any help is apreciated

seeming i was around the bonnet taking pics of spare wheel mounts i thought i might have a look at your little problem
my safety catch hits nothing, the A/C coil protrudes in the square opening by approx. 10mm, the safety easily clears this and does not contact the support post thingy
let us know if you need more info
by having a look at this i did find a mis-alignment issue with my bonnet catch
see before and after shots
Thanks for the info all .
I have taken a couple of photos to show were it is hitting the air con coil . The bonnet has a spare monted on it and checker plate so it closes with a fair bit of force While it looks straight I assume the catch must be bent will look at a new one as I dont want to puncture the coil
