    Engine Weight

Trying to get a quote to move an engine. They need a weight.
Anyone know approx how much a 200tdi engine and Radiator on a pallet would weigh ?

Don't know the weight, but when you find out, be sure to tell the transprt company 100Kg less than the actual...

Sometimes they end up weighing them for themselves, sometimes not - you might get away with it.

It can't be that much different to the V8 so a good guess is 200 - 250kg.

would the crank and block not add more weight than the V8 due to the materials they are made from??

Yes: Cast Iron for the block.

The Tdi is more like 270 kg depending on what is bolted on as well. (Then there is the radiator and the pallet).

The V8 crank has larger counterweights but the TDi 4 cylinder block would be heavier. Is the clutch and flywheel included? A bare Holden red 6 which is all cast iron is 250kg. So I am probably out by 50kg either way at a rough guess.

300kg, if its sitting on a pallet then it will be billed as 1m3 for shipping. you should be good for up to about 1T if thats the case and the price wont change.

if its going into a custom crate then they will bill on the cubage or the weight which ever comes out as the greater .

visit E-go and plug your info into their quote generator to get an idea on what it will cost by size and weight.
