    ok, ok...what about this....put in a Td5. umm, nar...... you probably want to retain your reliability..

    Had 3 with heads off in the last week , an auto trans failure and various other maladies, so yes I'll keep my 4BD1 County thanks

    That won't happen. The trans will let go first Mine actually 'split' a sprag while trying to do this

    Went Manual after 3 autotrans failures.

    Not having a crack........... just curious why the ZF in this modded one is not an issue (as in failing).

    Mostly because it was built using stronger clutches after an initial failure, the low stall converter and huge P38a oil cooler keep the temps down, and even with the VNT hasn't got anywhere near the torque of a Turboed 4BD1, or the torque pulses either.

    And it helps that the owner doesn't hammer it. It is used mostly for touring and towing a Camper trailer, with some serious off road when he has the time... It has a few suspension mods too....
