re the poly airs. I know a guy that has them in the rear of his truck,modified. He has a control valve that when the difflock is engaged, it links the 2 bags. he has onboard air so he can change the pressure also.

DO NOT RUN LINKED POLYAIRS ON ROAD EVER

I used to have Poliairs in the rear of my 1st 4 door RRC and they were ok,till one day I managed to pinch the bag between two windings in the coils when running the bags with low pressure.Pulled them out and never went back.I hate things that let me down.

Yes I would be interested in who the other manufacturer is.I know that there used to be someone else manufacturing them as Sam Def-90 has them in his 90.But whoever it was no longer manufactures them.

I find it really difficult to recommend a specific brand of shock,mainly because it would come down to the intended use of the vehicle,the modifications done to shock mounts and mostly to the expectations of the owner.Unfortunately a lot of the top end shocks end up having the added cost of needing to be re valved,and even though this isn't over the top expensive,it makes big holes in your pocket if you are on a budget.
Serg mentioned in an earlier post,that you should buy the best shocks you can afford.If I was in your case,I would give up a little travel and fit a shock that would suit your dual purpose role for your vehicle, Tourer/weekend plaything.And for that purpose and knowing what "I" would expect,"I" would fit KONI shocks without any hesitation.Unfortunately they aren't available in extreme lengths,but are readily available in +2" lengths to suit standard landrover mounts,or longer if you want to change shock mounts.
For a weekend play vehicle I would go another way completely,and any of the shocks Serg mentioned,I would happily put on my vehicle,but most of these would blow your budget unfortunately.
With my own vehicle,after fitting the modified shock mounts and towers,and cycling the suspension,the only shocks that I could find in eye/eye configuration that had a short enough closed length and long enough extended length were Rancho,Ride Pro,Rough Country and the new comp spec OME.
I,like Serg don't like OME shocks,but after owning and breaking the eyes off a couple of Ranchos and reading that the ride on the others was typically American,and set up very soft.I bit the bullet and fitted the OMEs and at this time,I have found them to be quite ok,they do everything that I want them to do,the proof will be in how long they do it for?

Another thing I have with my upper rear shock mounts is that I can mount the shocks in 3 different positions,depending on the intended use.I run it in the most offset position,but if I was using it to carry a bit of weight I can move it to a slightly more vertical position,and If I was using it to carry a lot of weight and touring I can put it in its most vertical position.

Hey Simon, thanks for the compliments, it is a basic Old Man Emu set up. I cannot fault it for what it does for me. it is a daily driver. I don't thrash my truck at club meets nor when out on my own business so the set up works fine.

Poser shots fresh off the driveway outside tonight... Ramp was 30 deg. Couldn't find the tape measure to assess height gained. Wheel lift/spin point was reached though as was shock drop on the front.
