Find a piece of steel pipe about 200mm long and slide this on your allen key. A hydraulic jack handle may be about right.
I need urgent help in removing the starter motor on my V8 D1. Mine has 2 allen head bolts that I cant undo and the starter is dead. Suffered the dreadful experiance of getting the car home on the back of a tilt tray. Wasnt allowed to cover the car either. Shame. Anyway, if anyone lives near Rothwell and could assist in removing said starter for me it would be much appreciated as I need to use the car tomorrow. If you can help, please phone me on 0458 003 262. Many thanks. Bob

Hi, Bought the right allen key socket, long breaker bar, and still no good. Actually, the bottom bolt looks like it has been a bit butchered before so I might have to resort to an angle grinder to cut the starter off at the bolt head level and try again. Im at a loss as what to do. Thanks anyway bee utey. Bob
Do you have an impact driver ... like this ??
They often come with allen key bits. One good crack with a hammer (if you can get it in there) should loosen it.

Trying to think outside the square – can the part of the housing which is bolted to the motor be left where it is and the remainder/back part with innards be pulled off in situ then if you have a working one take its innards out and put them into the one on the car? There’s not much room there. Even taking the back of the housing off might give you more access to get to the two bolts to remove the starter so you can drop another one in.
Obviously an auto otherwise you’d push start it. I have heard of people tow starting autos but someone with a bit of knowledge of this may chime in with how to do it and if it damages the auto????
And you have tried shorting across the starter and solenoid? My car has a voltage drop at the solenoid so it reads say 11.0v so I ran a wire from the battery via a switch in the cabin which gets me started every time. In your case shorting across from the started will do or if not physically possible run a wire from the solenoid to your battery +ve and contact it to see if it turns. ( hope I’m not telling you how to suck eggs) it’s assumed your starter is completely cactus but maybe it’s not?????
Maybe a mobile mechanic might have a trick to get it off or someone with stronger arms? (said in all seriousness)
Hope you get it sorted.
What about spraying it with that freezing product in a spray can made by Wurth. Causes the metal to shrink and may provide that loss of grip needed to undo the bolts.
