All good Scarry.
However never heard of an ACE failure yet. Broken swaybar links but no failures of the system.
And for cornering, well I love it chasing the P platers through roundabouts :D

Had to replace the ram on my ACE system a few months ago..... failed and sprayed fluid everywhere. Could not get a seal kit etc, had to get a complete ram from UK. Thankfully only took about 10-11 days to get here and back on the road again. Naturally the manual states that if the red ACE warning light comes on, you pull over and do not drive it any further due to creating faults with other components. That's handy if you're out bush.
Luckily I got the orange first and the red came on just around the corner from home.
Got the old one?
How much for new ram
Don't get me wrong,ACE works extremely well.My brother in law is the GU guy,you know ,the best fourby money can buy:(.,so he thinks:angel:
The only time he ever said a good thing about the Disco(which at that time i had the one with ACE) was after he took it for a run & couldn't believe how well it handled.Of course i didn't mention it had ACE.He still thinks they all handle that well:D:D
Mine was an early D2,& the ACE solenoids used to click a lot which was annoying, but i think this was sorted later on.
Anyone with ACE should also keep a good eye on all the hoses on the passengers side of the engine bay as they can chafe on each other.
Yep, have to agree that ACE does a very good job and I would prefer to have it due to the differences it makes to handling. I drive a number of fourbies at work from Hilux, Patrol, Landcruiser to Prado and frankly as far as it goes, I think the D2 handles better than any of them despite the fact that it's getting on for 11 years old. We change our vehicles at work (govt) within 18 months so they are all pretty low mileage and well serviced etc. The Patrol in particular (virtually new vehicle) handled like a barge in corners and tight turns.
I haven't heard of many ACE problems in the past from others but unfortunately anything that is man made runs the risk of failure eventually.....my vehicle has 220k on it and it's the only problem I've had with ACE so hopefully that's the last one I'll get. Don't discount a vehicle because it has ACE, you are better off with it than without it IMHO.
Thanks for that info. I have made the final decision and grabbed this disco. Will be picking up in couple of weeks. I have never had one before so I dont have anything to compare to with the handling, might be a good thing as if I drive one with ACE I might HAVE to have it, I am used to a lowered V8 commodore on 20's that holds to the road so tightly. So no ACE on the or SLS on this girl. But its too straight to miss out on, the owner also dropped price to $24,000 without me having to haggle. The keyless entry isnt working, and I have been told the battery went flat and it needs to be recoded? They are going to sort that out though. Comes with RWC.
So long as you're happy with what you've got that's all that matters. Sounds like you are impressed with the condition of it......best of luck, and welcome to the world of LR frustrations.:)
Heres some photos of the Disco.

Nice, so long as you like it, thats probably all that really matters!
Underside looks like its been painted as road grime would not make the diffs look that black also it has electric brakes controller fitted I think from the pictures.
Can come in very handy but may have towed a heavy van which also not a problem just so you are aware.
Nice looker with great colours.
