reverse them as suggested I was out playing hard and broke the axle on my 33's so yours should be fine.

Got the new CVs in the post today. Not bad, overnight delivery from one rural address to another... anyway, a few differences and a few things i am surprised about.

First thing that surprised me was some blueing from a hardening process is still clear. The manufacturer has hardened the ball-races after the CV was cut. I wasn't expecting to see this. Has anyone else noticed this on their CVs when replacing them? Should I be concerned about the manufacturing process?

Some differences in design and construction . The old one is on the right, new one on the left. Less steel on the new one, cage is also lower and there is a millimetre or two difference in overall height between the two. Anything to be concerned about? The new one is so tight I cannot dismantle it to inspect the inner races and finishing. I ordered two AEU2522 CVs and if the old one I have is an AEU2522 then the new one is different and I cannot see how they can have the same part number. Can anyone confirm the old one on the right is indeed an AEU2522 CV?

EDIT: No longer too worried about the visible blueing. I just looked on Rovertracks site and saw their HD CV joint was a similar 'cut' to the new one and visible blueing on it as well.
