But the vehicles are shot by 500,000 and mechanical wear will have done the engine bearings and bores in I'd say by this mileage.

Injectors are the least of issues by then.

Come on Tombie,we all know Isusuzu's do 500,000 easily without any wear,we hear it everytime a Tdi,Td5,puma has so much as a hint of trouble. Pat

Some of those Isuzu engines are on their second or third vehicle. But mainly because they are simple enough to transplant.
As engines and vehicles get more "integrated" people avoid swapping them. It has to be a very good or expensive engine to be worth swapping out of a wrecked/rusted vehcile these days.
