Linishers. You can not have too many linishers. Once you have used linishers and realise what they can do you will rarely use the rock on a grinder other than for sharpening drills and HSS lathe tools.
If you are going to do any serious engineering and fabrication other than light motor repairs and modifications you WILL need all the items I have listed in this thread.

-I agree get a linisher of some sort, I also lurve flappers but since whacking a linisher on my 5" I just dont know what I did before hand!!!
-Compressor shed outside, insulated, with concrete
- a few W-beams across the 10m span for a gantry/overhead crane. Pizzles all over an engine hoist!
-Biggest MIG you can find, if your limited to single phase (I doubt it) the new BOC 250 looks promising... Im sure you got plenty of juice so find an ex-heavy structural fabricator workshop three phase 2million amp jobbie! or if you want purdy the pulsed 350s would be the bomb. Either way get a wire feeder unit so you keep the unit under a bench all covered up, with wire feeder hanging from gantry crane. Keeps stinking grinder/chopsaw dust out of the sparkler making bits.
-Coolant running 5" hori bandsaw that head swivels... with a roller bench down one wall.
-Beer in the beer fridge

If you’re building the shed and thinking at some time of getting a lathe or mill of any substantial size, I’d get a section of the floor levelled to take this equipment. Will make life a lot easier.
If you going a “big” old lathe then you may wish to consider a raised pad for extra rigidity.
Tooling for lathes and mills is never ending. I’d think of getting a mill/lathe 3 phase combination with digital readouts. While it will not do the big stuff will handle most jobs.
Particularly fine/accurate lathe / mill work takes a lot of skill and if you have mate who’ll attend to that for you a mill/lathe combo is probably a good choice for general work.
With grinder/sander have a look at the “radius master”. Uses standard sanding belts and does everything a grinder will do and a whole lot more.
