Intermitent starting
Hi Andy had the same problem with my 05 td5. Turned out to be a relay under the driver's seat, just have to keep pulling them out ( engine running) to find out which is the right one, and replace it. Mine did occasionally play up after that but just a wriggle no more problems. Before I replaced the relay at worst it wouldn,t start ( even had to get it towed once to the local dealer no result there tho) at best it would miss driving along.Hope this helps worth a try you never know

I'm going for the starter contacts.
Put the red lead of a multimeter on the solenoid trigger contact and earth the other. You'll get 12v everytime you turn the key to start.
If you get 12v but no start then it's the contacts.
