    Lucas alternator brushes

Anyone know the min brush length for a lucas multifit alternator. Doesn't seem to be much pushback when inserting the brushblock. One brush appears to have crud on the rubbing face.

    Stop knocking Mr Lucas???
It is a lack of preventative maintenance on the part of owners that destroys electrical components? Would you drive your car and never change or check the oil and water? Try it and see what happens! $$$$$$$$$$
If you don't maintain you distributors Alternators and starter motors and wait for them to fail before you attend to them. Don't complain. Bearings and brushes for an old style Alt will cost you around $30 and pulling a still functional Alt apart is easy compared to one with collapsed bearings and burnt out stator winding? "Poor Pryor Planning Produces **** Poor Performance" Google:- "Lucas Alternator Repair" to see just how easy it is to save yourself lots of $$$$ strife and swearing?
I have seen engines get reconditioned then the old distributor Carburetor water pump all put back on???? WTF The dizzi had seized advance weights and that destroyed the engine ???? Check the little things guys? An ounce of preventions better than a Ton of cure?
    The Auto Electrician has spoken????

    Good luck.

Check the pdf fault file. If you read and follow the instructions you can fix most of the Princes masterminded equipment? It was made to be fixed not thrown out like all the modern stuff of today???
