With the km yours has I'd solemnly take it out bush and shoot it

If you replace the O ring it might give you some time before the new vehicle turns up ?
From what I've remember reading on here over the years it's usually an indicator that a rebuilt or new pump isn't too far away.

Pat, this may seem odd but leave it for a few days and see if it stops. I had a Disco that did this, and by the time I had the vehicle returned for repairs (I was booked out for a week or so) it had stopped leaking, and STILL hasn't months later.

OR, if it doesn't stop then pump needs to be taken to a diesel shop for the top seal and throttle shaft and bush replaced. I haven't done one yet as they aren't as easy as the non aneroid equipped ones on Jap engines. Someone here surely has though.

OR you can take this opportunity at the high KM's it has done to overhaul it, but as the new vehicle isn't that far off it seems, maybe this option isn't feasible.

My puma has been put back a month because of the paint issue and I don't want to sell the Tdi with any faults,I've had four people this week ask about it.Obviously I don't want to spend a grand on it seeing it's going but I can't sell it as is.Rick, the O ring is inside the broze bush or outside?. Pat, I have no idea, never done one but Ian Petersen uploaded a Bosch pump book on here somehwere I think.

If you can still get Redline stuff easily try some RL2 injector cleaner through her.
It just may rejuvenate or swell the seal a little as it uses their ester 2 stroke oil in it as a lubricant. (esters are natural seal swellers)
Hell, even some biodiesel may help.

I've been running RL2 in tiny doses through our old Fiat 550 tractor (roughly a '70 model) and touch wood no diesel leaks on the old CAV pump yet, although I had to replace the lift pump last year.

Just an update,I got in contact with United fuel injection in Perth and being a common problem they sell a bush and re-seal kit to repair the leak. The bloke I talked too new just what the problem was and what I needed and how to repair it so by the end of the week it should all be good, last night I had another person ask about it's sale,I could sell two if I had them. I didn't realise these pumps were computer controlled. That repair technique is often used by software folk, "have you reset the computer, have you turned it off?"
