What oil have you used? Check the "Good Oil" section for a lot of discussion about appropriate oils for the R380 gearbox.
Short answer is yes. Synchros can suffer a reduced life with bad driving habits. One example is driving with one hand resting on the stick constantly when not shifting. This can load up the synchros causing premature wear.Quote:
It's only done 178,000kms (would they wear in that distance) and I babied it since I brought in 2003. I haven't even had it off road it's sits in the garage gathering dust most of the time. I bearly do 5,000kms a year in it. Any other comments/ideas would be appreciated
