    Got the snip

A quick check of the Ashcroft instructions (too quick as it turned out) and located the Blue and Black wire. It was in the centre plug, near to pin nine and in the middle ECU...

Gave it the test and still the lights are on.

A quick consult of RAVE and I was a bit premature so to speak. The correct wire in question is Black/Blue not Blue/Black...

I was on the Body ECU not the SLABS ECU. Normally I would have consulted RAVE before proceeding, don't know why I didn't... And I have a Dip in Electronic Eng, perhaps I should hand it back.

    All good now.

    Cheers
    Ron

... Because you're an Engineer, not a Technician.

Replaced a dead door-lock actuator (Thanks Linn Rover) and did the periodic 'Adjust Door-Handle Travel'. Door locks/unlocks with the rest....and opens... almost like a luxury car.

    - 5 turns of the offending rod. - Long-handled/nose pliers make it easier to put the hook back in.

Took apart the $400 (?) German aktuator... and found a burnt out Mabuchi motor. Awaiting a response from ebay sellers.

Naturally, the other rear door has died...

Over a few days/evenings because I'm slow been playing on my 300tdi Disco.

Removed gearbox (one of the bellhousing nuts was mangled when i started just to help matters), clutch, and flywheel.
Replaced rear main and ordered a new clutch.

Once the clutch and box are back in the next jobs are:

Find where the water running down block is coming from,
Replace pinion seal in both diffs,
    Get radiator rodded,
    Transfer case output shaft seal,
Try and work out how to stop rear door catching,
Look at replacing the rear bumper after if fought with a couple of rocks.

It looks much worse written down!

Oi! You've obviously forgotten what a state the garage was in. Shazz can now not only drive the secret prototype in, but open the doors as well!

Need to do a temporary connection on that ducted unit & make sure it still works too. Maybe this weekend while you're 1/8.
