Providing you get compatible filters, changing the primary filter is a piece of cake.

Could you not get the globe and socket out of the housing, or did you try to remove the globe from the socket? They don't come out. You purchase globe and socket as one.

yeah, it wasn't easy. I grabbed it gently with the pliers (making sure not to squeeze hard enough to crack it) and moved is side to side + in and out and it eventually walked out. The replacement just popped in nice and easy.

    give it another go.

im so glad to finally have this done! ...its the little things

I replaced the brake calliper pistons with stainless steel pistons and new seal kits. I have no idea why LR/ Lockheed specified chrome pistons for the Defender.

As soon as the brake pads begin to wear, the chrome piston is exposed to the weather (dirt, sand, salt and all the rest), the chrome flakes off, the piston rusts. Then you go to put new brake pads in, the rusty piston is pushed back into its bore and quickly stuffs the seals, brake fluid then leaks onto your new brake pads, ruining them in the process.

So anyone up for new pads i highly recommend putting in SS pistons!
