Hi All
Graham and his rovers again! His very neat efforts at installing the 3.9 V8 out of a '97 Disco into an earlier '95, have met with a problem, it won't go!
It appears that the wiring loom for the motor isn't a direct match for the earlier body.
Being a softy I said I would sort it. Oh dear, I'm now into colour codes, circuits, wiring diagrams and workshop manuals up to my ear-balls.
So my Fred Disco is still outside of the shed without it's motor, at least it's complement of the resident spiders have been left in peace.
Cheers Arthur
Refitted the HF radio (been out for almost 12 months).
Altered the rear door stays to allow doors to open to 90deg
Martyn
Fitted a roof top tent at last
Something very simple, but provided much relief......I replaced the little bulbs in the gear selector!
Finally I can see what gear I am in when it's dark!:D
Gave it a nice 'blanket' to keep it a bit dry & protect from the possible hail the Met Office has warned about. It'll also mean I can do some work on it when it's raining.
Brought an oil can today, for fresh clean engine oil, to use while fitting motor parts.
Cheers Arthur
Water-pump and welsh plugs on 94 disco. (pain in the behind to get the fan off till i noticed i was turning it the wrong way, doh :)
This morning, changed the oil & filter on the County, checked master cylinders, checked coolant and power steering, checked swivels and front diff, cleaned aircleaner element. Continue service tomorrow.
This afternoon, sharpened chainsaw, then got, cut, loaded and unloaded but haven't split, about a tonne of firewood with the 2a.
