Fitted a rear diff guard, but couldn't get the front one on because of the steering arm, so I'll have to get the spanners out and try to undo it to make room.
Also used degreaser to clean the crud off the steel wheels, which took quite a lot of rubbing, but now they look very shiny.

Fitted a new lift pump, a new oil pressure gauge, did the tappets, wound my boost up about 4 psi and did some injector pump tweaks. holy cow ! feels like a brand new truck ! :D

We decided that the booster wasn't doing it's job, so pulled the vacuum line off a couple of 300 TDi's and felt the suction, there wasn't much between them. So we looked a bit further and then could hear air hissing.
Using a tube up to the ear I soon found that the air was getting in around where the master cylinder was fastened onto the booster.
Pulling the master cylinder off I found there was a faulty O' ring, this was replaced and the brakes are now usable.
The Stop light switch is intermittently faulty and is upsetting the ECU, so the switch is the next thing to change.

Fitted the ARB new bar.
Rebuilt the winch. 17 year old winch.
Fitted TJM side bars n steps.
My 5 year old twins are happy about the steps as they now can get in the car them selves.
This was all from Friday night to Sunday lunch time. Then it was beer o'clock.
Friday drove "Telly" (96 4dr Disco 300tdi 5sp) into the shed
Removed the poly bullbar, hid lights and fog lights (not working)
Fitted TJM bullbar & Bull lights (pulled it off "Ogre" (94 2dr Disco 200tdi 5sp), fixed damage to fog lights caused by hitting a magpie and refitted (now working) and put old hid lights on brackets on top of the bullbar. Need to get new indicators as the current ones have broken and bodged lenses
Saturday
Tidied up wiring under bonnet (was a real birds nest).
Removed old UHF antenna and fitted another, re wired the UHF to accessories instead of straight to the battery (killed the battery as I keep leaving it on for days without using the disco)
Removed the original rear bar and tow bar
Sunday
Fitted Kay-mar rear bar and original lights (will be changing to led later)
Greased the spare wheel arm stub axles as they were rusting.
Cleaned up the wiring under the bonnet of "Ogre" and removed the bodgy power supply to the rear from the PO. It now looks nice and neat and I know where the wires are going.
Fitted "Ogre" with a modified ARB bullbar and high mount winch and ARB rear bar.
Very productive weekend and now I have a heap of room in the shed after getting all that stuff off the floor :D

TD5 balancer is about to let go :( and a mate picked up that one of my auto lines was about to pop... so now I have ATF in my ears from getting the lines off. Gotta be one of the worst jobs by far!
220k service, new sports exhaust system and found inner guard was bent and front tyre rubbed through brake line...tomorrows to do list I guess :D Oh and I have been hearing some squeaking and creaking so might check chassis mounts too.
Started pulling the dash out to get to the rooted heater matrix not much fun at all:mad: got hot in the shed so have come inside and see whats happening in landy land
The front end is now out from under 'Rusty Bob from Bruny' and the chassis is sitting on the back axle only.
Next job is to cut and turn the chassis rails together to form a drawbar. This work is to make myself a float trailer for moving the back end tub's and flat trays around the back yard.
I'm pleased with the work so far and the Mrs will ecstatic to find some junk gone, --- I hope? ;)

Fitted a Rijidij rear wheel carrier to the Deafener. Took a bit (a lot actually) longer than the suggested 2 hours as I have an extra tank in the right wheel arch which was in the way.
Then getting the damn hoses back on that thing on refitting required plenty of swearing and cursing but at last it's done.
Probably some small adjustments to be done but overall it looks like it'll do the job fine.
But I fear nothing will make the Deafeners flimsy door shut nicely even without all that weight hanging off it.:mad:
