Fully Meguires the black metal flake paint - Clean, polish, protect!
Lotsa hours; but absolutely "COOL" BLACK shiny, glister finish.GLISTENS!
Note: every time I do this I find blemishes from the factory that in any other $75 000 vehicle would not e tolerated.
Cheers

Changed the oil in front and rear diffs. Tried to do the transfer case but the filler plug seemed to be cemented in! Glad I tried that first. Now have a wobble extension for my socket set to try next weekend to get some more torque on the plug.

Organised a new bush kit for the chasis end of the rear trailing arms on the County.
Had a white-knuckle drive back from Bendelby Ranges 4WD park last Tuesday after munching one of the old rubber bushes on the passenger side. There was enough play that the rear axle would shift forward and significantly change the direction of travel every time I got on or off the power.
Still drivable with care but not too much fun coming through the rolling hills between Burra and Gawler.
Went with a poly kit as these came recommended over the usual rubber for that specific location and were a bit cheaper than genuine rubber to boot.
Changed the power steering pump on my 300TDi Defender, while I was at it changed the coolant and fitted the last one of my low coolant alarm kits. The tray comes off it next, after that's removed, I will be able to renovate the Gearbox, tail shaft, Salisbury diff, the rear wiring loom and then when all that has been done, it will be ready to fit the cut down 2A tub ready to make my version of a pop top camper.
'Fred' the 300TDi Man' D1 had the battery zapper on all today, as the battery was down a bit when I tried to start in the frost this morning.
'AlexH V8' auto D1, had it's coolant changed yesterday and 'Daisy' 300TDi auto is the next to have a change of coolant. The old coolant is being saved for use in the engines in the Series ones, the MF165 and the '56 Chevy as they all have engines that are cast iron construction and with no alloy to worry about, the coolant would have plenty of life left in it.

My fuel gauge died the Wednesday before Easter. Was a pain as I was going away to the high country.
Just finished removing the fuel pump and found a terminal broken where the sender wire joins the plug. Off to the auto sparky tomorrow for some terminals.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
