Went for a sneaky bush run, smashed heaps of stuff, so came home, replaced lower rear control arms with cranked arms, fixed some oil leaks, painted some flares, turned the fuel up, adjusted toe in, cracked a few beers, fitted front bash plate.😊 now just need to retain my rear springs.
Oh and removed my inverted rear swaybar
replaced the roof on one of the RRs

Today I failed to ignore the dust gathered on my replacement yrm seat and battery box panels.

Plan with seat box area is to replace the rotten bits, separate all steel aluminium joins, get it all dust tight and stuff a load of sound/heat insulation under there.
Cleaned out fuel sedimenter, and replaced the fuel filter, fuel lift pump and brake vacuum pump. (Well, yesterday actually :p)

Mind you, I keep looking at him and thinking that for about $1500 I could really fix up the known problems to be in great shape and give us plenty of continued service, since the engine and transmission are in great shape.
For example, the front sunroof could be fixed by plundering the required parts from the rear sunroof, which hasn't worked for ages but is still sound. I know where I could get a second-hand heater so its just three hours of labour to fit it. The bonnet, whose clear-coat is lifting, wouldn't be very costly to get resprayed.
Spend a bit more to add some drawers, a winch bar and winch, underbody protection, a longer roof rack and a few other bits and we would be set for quite a while.
That is the tightwad in me, who would rather save the cash and ignore the idea of having a near-new vehicle. We have the cash in the bank to buy a good Defender, but it's tempting to leave it there and just putter along in the old boy instead.
If it was just my choice I might do that, but The Navigator has set her heart on a Defender. I keep reminding myself that its probably quite rare to find a wife who likes the idea of driving a Defender, so I should grab the chance while I can.

Fitted roof racks the the d2a and then also my old side awning. Ready to chuck the swag in the back and go on a road trip.
