Ordered an Engine Saver low coolant alarm from the shop
Went out to the chassis. Ground down an errant bracket some exhaust place had welded on in a very silly spot. Cut excess 4in exhaust pipe of where i welded it to put the exhaust through the chassis like military s2a. Rewelded small bit i missed b4 and will grind off smooth hopefully tomorrow. Found small 1in square hole in underside of rear x member. Ran out of wire in the mig....grrr. another job for tomorrow, cut small patch and weld it. Thinking about making a rotisserie??? For chassis as i cant manage it by myself. Would b very handy to turn it over and work on it cleaning and painting me thinks. :D:D
Cheers Rod

Fitted a Momo Jet wheel with TMD slimline boss. Easier driving now, heap more room in front, even move once I fit the Mulgo seat bars.
Finished the service, now working on installing a new radio.

Got stuck into the back of the Tdi D1 and cleaned up and prepped the false floor I built three years ago for covering with marine carpet. Took out the small rear seat and installed the fridge there. Fixed up the faulty auxiliary battery and fitted a dual battery monitor. Still need to wire up the positive at each battery for it as I was short two inline fuse holders. Ran a length of heavy duty twin down the LH chassis rail from the aux battery to the rear. This will connect to an electrical cabinet a mate is currently making with Blue Sea Systems parts so that there's somewhere central and neat to connect accessories and power outlets. Mixed up some degreaser and made a start on the engine bay and underside clean up.
Still need to do the timing belt, and also contemplating putting an R380 I have floating around in. The ZF is cheesing me off and it just doesn't work properly behind the VNT.
The old V8 will be the primary car for the next few weeks... hope it fares alright, scary busy at the moment and it'll need to do a few 600km round trips towing.
Picked up my new tyres tonight. Five originals at a good price :D.
I have been quite happy with these on the car. They are quiet and pretty good out in the sticks too. As we do more touring than anything, I cant warrant noisy MT's that wear too fast for what you pay for them.
Had a really good run on my last set. The cars just pulled over 120K, but probably these have done about a bit over 110K as I had a set I swapped over when we wanted to play in the mud.
So now to have three of my MT set fixed to stop leaks, so I can put that set on whilst I paint my original rims balck then have the new tyres put on. :D
Washed the Deefer for the first time in probably three years.
I don't know who is more shocked, it or me. :o
