Hard to beat.

Today i fitted a roof rack to the s3, that i used to have on my 2a. I then fitted a Kings 2.5m x 2.5m awning to the left side. I then fitted shorter legs to the front of the little roof rack that i use for the uhf aerial. I plan to mount a full width flat plate to this rack and it will act as a wind deflector as well as a mount for the uhf aerial. I plan on fitting the 50" light bar there, that i bought by mistake, (thought it was a 50 cm one), and see how that looks and works. Took a couple pics. See below.
Cheers Rod.

Got busy again today on the s3. Fitted 2 x 6" light bars on the front. Havent wired em up yet. Had to weld brackets to the bull bar. Then i removed the small roof rack and welded a couple brackets on and fitted the 50" light bar i mistakenly bought a couple yrs ago, (wanted a 50cm bar), to the top of the roof rack. It fits very well between the two side, load loops, and with the shorter front legs it should adjust up nicely. Its yet to be fitted but its only a couple bolts and a wire so its tomorrows job. Couple pics below

Wow Rod,
that huge light bar will make daylight!
Cheers, Mick.
Well i wired them up today with an illuminator spotlight harness. I modified the harness so i could use it for the big light bar as well, on seperate switches. One for the 2x6" light bars and one for the big'un. It all worked out good in the end but the 2 switches i bought are way too bright at night. They light up the cabin when they're on. Need to get other switches. Boy is that big light bar bright. Its almost like daylight. The 80 amp alternator keeps up easy with the current draw. Cant wait to go on a trip tomorrow if i can sort out the missfire that just started tonight on the way to the LRRegSA club meeting. Its never ending on Land Rovers.....thats why we love em...
Cheers Rod

Pulled the front seats and carpets out of the D1.
You know those tips you get for finding water if you break down?
Here's another one: If you're in a D1, pull the front carpets:mad:
Made temporary repairs to the back exhaust pipe hanger.
