Didnt do it today, saturday actually, but FINALLY got my recovery points sorted.
2 12X100 plates that bolt down the inside of the chassis rail with 3 X 12mm HT bolts, and got my mate to weld around them where they poke through the bar.

Took my Series 3 for it's first drive!
Not too bad. Once she warms up a bit (the 186 that is) goes ok. Jumps out of 2nd H but doesn't seem to mind 2nd L? go figure.... brakes are a little soggy, so I'm going to try to re-adjust them see if I can't get a little more from them myself. Otherwise I may end up taking it to the brake joint to have it looked at.
O, does anyone know what happens with your brakes if the vacuum hose is leaking?
What revs should I be doing at 80km/hr in 4th? My tacho was saying 5000!
no vacuum = hard pedal and poor braking! :o
I think about 3333.3333333333333333333333333333 ! :wasntme:Quote:

If there is switch on the back of the tacho, it would be still set on the 4 cylinder position?
.
Put the Hi Tough axles in, removed the sals pinion flange so I can replace the seal this evening (bearings are okay), have to mount the tube winch bar again as well so I have front recovery points and sweating on my Woods tailshaft to arrive in time for weekend adventures.
taxi racing is at bathurst this weekend. :)
